Navajo Dam is one of the largest earthen dams in the world. The dam, built in the late 60's at the juncture of the San Juan River, Pine River and Frances Creek, created Navajo Lake, which is 35 miles long with over 250 miles of shore line. The lake offers the best in recreation for the boater, fisherman, or water-skier. For those who just want to relax, there are many remote coves for camping as well as full campsites provided by the Park Service.
